Job Description:

Job summary

The Sales Planning and Performance (SP&P) Manager is responsible for managing the sales compensation plan through data analysis. He/She evaluates the business requirements of the sales compensation and reporting applications (i.e., Enterprise Sales Planning [ESP]). This position monitors revenue and performance metrics and performs data mining to interpret sales revenue data. The Sales Planning and Performance Manager corrects and improves system issues and conducts training to ensure sales groups utilize system tools by creating sales process efficiencies. This position manages the regional SP&P team.

Key responsibilities:

  • Region Sales Planning – Implementation, distribution, communication, and governance
  • Sales Incentive Design – Alignment to organizational objectives and outcomes. Recommendations to further drive sales behavior
  • Incentive compensation distribution – Accurate and timely compensation payment
  • SP&P operations – Training, coaching, and development of tools and enhancements to support the organizational objectives
  • Governance – Overall governance of consistency and fairness within Region and Globally

Project Management:

Oversee the development and implementation of compensation plans that motivate and reward sales teams. This includes collaborating with cross-functional teams to design, test, and deploy compensation structures, ensuring alignment with business goals and compliance standards. You will analyze sales performance data to assess the effectiveness of incentive programs, make data-driven recommendations for improvements, and manage the timely and accurate payout of incentives. Additionally, you will lead the communication and training efforts to ensure sales teams understand and maximize their compensation opportunities.

Governance:

Establish and maintain policies, procedures, and controls to ensure the integrity and compliance of compensation programs. This includes developing governance frameworks, conducting regular audits, and ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements and company standards. You will work closely with legal, finance, and HR departments to address any compliance issues, mitigate risks, and ensure accurate and transparent reporting. Additionally, you will oversee the resolution of disputes related to incentive compensation and lead efforts to continually improve governance practices to support business objectives and drive fair and equitable compensation.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or International equivalent
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrates a familiarity with UPS’s core service offerings and understanding of supply chain concepts
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in sales planning, business development, or a related field, preferably within a multinational or fast-paced environment

Skills :

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proven ability to interpret and leverage data to drive business decisions
  • Excellent knowledge of sales processes, forecasting, and performance management
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other business analytics tools (e.g., Salesforce, Power BI)
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively across functions
  • Leadership experience, with a proven ability to manage teams and drive performance improvement
  • Languages: Fluency in English; additional languages are an advantage
